Nearly 5,000 members belong to NYSSMA, with approximately 100,000 students participating annually in spring adjudication festivals. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, NYSSMA will not be able to host these students. NYSSMA is one of the largest and most successful music organizations in the country. "We are also grateful to the Board of Education, administration and community members whose support helped make these accomplishments possible." Students were chosen to participate based on their proficiency scores achieved at previous festivals, as well as teacher recommendations. Caleb Thomas (drum set) was also selected as an alternate for the All-State Jazz Ensemble, which only features one drummer and an alternate. Selected to participate were Daniel Chen (Violin): String Orchestra, Lily Dell (Alto): Mixed Chorus, Olivia Massa (Alto): Treble Chorus, Ian Miller (Tenor): Mixed Chorus, Gavin Shaub (Jazz Voice, Bass): Vocal Jazz, Emma Weston (Trumpet): Symphonic Band.
